Why Were We Founded?

The Retired Peace Officers' Association of Manteca (RPOA) formalized after the Manteca Police Officers' Association gave their endorsement to Gary Singh for Mayor.   Manteca is home to many retired officers who served their community in various law enforcement agencies.  Originally the retired officers in RPOA, informally met together to establish friendships and discuss issues in and around Manteca.

Let's face it...Manteca is known for its lawlessness.  Manteca is below the standard citizen to officer ratio of 1000:1.  It is common knowledge there can be as few as 4 officers on patrol for a city of almost 90,000 people.  This puts our officers' safety at risk and is a risk to our community.  Our organization was founded to support our local police officers and our community.  Together RPOA of Manteca have decades of service to their community and our country.  Our goal is to use our vast experience and knowledge to continue to contribute and serve our community after retirement.

RPOA is NOT a Political Action Committee.  

RPOA DOES NOT seek donations or monetary contributions.

RPOA DOES NOT seek fees or dues.

RPOA invites all active and retired peace officers to join.

Our leaders at the local level play a vital role in our public safety.  Their decision-making and the types of policies they promote have an impact on our community - whether positive or negative.  Our desire through our endorsements is to identify quality candidates who will ensure public safety is their number one priority.
